Rumor: Microsoft Set to obtain Obsidian Entertainment

Following their recent acquisition of Playground Games and Ninja Theory, that was announced at E3 2018, Kotaku reports that Microsoft is near finalizing a package that can obtain acquire Obsidian Entertainment.

Sources nearby the deal, who’ve spoken to Jason?Schreier at Kotaku, express that, while there’s nothing final, an offer is imminent. One source said that, “it’s just a few when, not if.”

Obsidian has recently been implementing critically acclaimed RPG series, Pillars of Eternity, but they’re best know with regards to work towards the likes of Fallout: New Vegas and?Knights of your Old Republic II.

Of course, considering that the news is to be made official, it’s unclear the deal is acceptable, but an acquisition would likely see Obsidian join Microsoft’s rapidly growing team of exclusive developers. When using the likes of Ninja Theory and Playground Games already agreeable to build new exclusives for your Xbox platform, now and for subsequent generations, the long run is looking exciting.

Schreier reached seem to Obsidian for reply to the rumor, but they replied, “Unfortunately, we really do not reply to rumors or speculation rather than to talk about that the Rumors album by Fleetwood Mac still holds up.”

We will be likely to update you when and if good news within the deal is announced by Obsidian or Microsoft.
